Let’s get to know her!

Name: Katherine Hansford
Position: Receptionist
Salon: The Retreat Livingston

Question 1: What do you enjoy about working in the beauty industry?
The things I like most about working in the beauty industry are meeting new people. I had worked in the care field for over a decade, then in retail for quite a while, earlier this year I did a nail course at college in the evenings, and it gave me a taste for the industry, and now here I am 🙂 I enjoy helping people to feel their very best and assisting the Therapists to do their jobs to the highest standards possible.

Question 2: What’s the favourite part of your job?
That’s a tough one, because there is nothing I don’t enjoy… I love my work and love the fact my workplace is calm, serene and tranquil. Not to mention it smells gorgeous due to the beautiful products we use! However, it’s going to have to be the people again, the Therapists are wonderful. However, I do enjoy giving Clients an amazing customer experience, so that their visit to The Retreat is a memorable one.

Question 3:  If you could choose one favourite product what would it be?
Urgh, another tough one! It will have to be ESPA Pink Hair and Scalp Mask. I love the smell of it and love how silky and glossy it makes my hair, that’s my once a week hair treat! I have just bought ESPA Essential Cleansing Mask… love this product, it’s not a heavy mask like some I have used in the past, and certainly does a fab job at cleansing.

Question 4: What treatment would you choose to have yourself?
I have been known to book myself in for a ESPA 30 min Deep Muscle Back Massage before work in the morning, a fantastic way to start the day. All back tensions worked away and sets me up for the day ahead. Also, ESPA Hot Stone Full Body Massage is divine!

Question 5: Where did you last go on holiday?
My last holiday was to Florida in September, as part of my 40th birthday celebrations. We even experienced a bit of Hurricane Irma – which was certainly a surprise – but we enjoyed theme parks, beaches, shopping, eating, eating and yes more eating! Our first time in the USA, but will definitely go back.

Question 6: What’s your favourite food?
I love ALL food! Always eating, trying new foods, trying new recipes… probably Italian though! Lasagne was my favourite childhood food, possibly influenced by Garfield the cat, as his fav was lasagne! Carbonara I eat at least once a week as that’s definitely one of my favourites, but I do enjoy pizza… I love cheesecake too (not Italian, but had to mention it)!

Thank you Kat for these fantastic answers, it’s been a pleasure!
